Last big project, begun April 2005 -
Bike shed and Wedding Wine Cellar.
Built with passion and pride,
in spite of failing health.
The garden is now the hardest place.
He embraced the sunshine
with a lover's lust,
stripping off his shirt to sense
winter's pallor melt under its rays.
In moments, its Midas touch would burnish
his skin to a soft gold.
It would soak in like butter
on hot toast and glow in his smile
long after the clouds had come over.
It was his space for creativity,
for reading and bird feeding ,
for breakfasting and sleepng,
for partying and privacy,
for stargazing and sipping Ardbeg
in companionable silence
under a midnight sky.
I fear he is a little critical
of the current neglect.
Now that he's back home for good
there's a wee rush on
to plant anew -
Perhaps a hanging basket,
and his last desire -
a climbing rose
mingled with clematis.

Do hope that reference to this 'Blog' is on 'Waiting Room' notice boards in the appropriate places. It is so important that others can gather courage from it. When is the Garden open to the public?
Lots of Love
